SMART MARKETING IS ABOUT PICKING UP BETTER TARGET MARKETS
The worlds best marketers will tell you that ‘Smart Marketing’ is all about continually picking better targets markets until you ‘stumble’ across the best of your target markets.
So how do you isolate you better target markets? The most obvious is to write a list. Anyone can write a list and most of us already have. In the majority of cases those lists are still in drawers with only the first few suggested target markets on that list checked off. The remainder have most likely been put aside for later on – much, much later on.
The purpose of this sector is to expand on what we know to be true and then simply see it it can apply to the product and service we are currently engaged in marketing to enhance selling opportunities. And as I recall, everyone wanted me to investigate the opportunities available to with the lower cost marketing versions on the market today. And some not so cheap, but truly effective.
Earl Nightingale, in his tape series ‘The Strangest Secret’, tells us to spend an hour every working day coming up with new idea’s. Say if you write down 20 a day that’s 100 a week. Then say if you only used one new idea out of that 100, what could that be worth to your business.
He goes on to tell us of others who have used this system to achieve success, extraordinary success. One salesman sold more in one month than he did in the entire previous year using this system.
