DO IT NOW – DON’T LEAVE IT UNTIL TOMORROW
Famous American author and business tycoon, W. Clement Stone, the man who single-handedly built Combined Insurance Company of America, an insurance empire worth in excess of a billion dollars in assets (in 1979), would make all his employees recite the phrase, “Do it now” again and again at the start of each workday.
Yet today in so many of our larger businesses things are still moving too slowly for the top sales achievers. And this is one of the reasons so many of todays top sales achievers perform so well.
They won’t subscribe to the level of so many other salespeople who never seem to be in a hurry. And you won’t hear them say,
n ‘There is plenty of time,’
n ‘What’s the rush?’
n ‘Don’t worry, we’ve got all the time in the world,’
or something similar.
To a professional salesperson in the top 1% there is never enough time, there’s always a rush and they definitely don’t have all the time in the world. They call their customer today. They clean their desk today. They do anything worth doing today. Not tomorrow, never tomorrow, always today.
