ANSWERED PRAYER – THIS IS A POWERFUL LESSON IN PRAYER

Our God, is an orderly God, a God of order. A God that wants to bless, but we have to pray first to order the blessing, and then pray thanks to receive the blessing.

I was fortunate enough to hear those words from the ministry of Kenneth Copeland (one of the world’s best known faith preachers) around 30 years ago, but I am sure I did not take enough notice of the power of that process.

Some years later, Jerry Savelle (another giant among faith preachers), added to the process of petitioning and receiving prayer. He said to pray in such a specific manner that you go about detailing every part of your prayer as if you were a builder about to put a building plan onto the council. It has to be that precise. Once you had prayed it, then never pray it again, that is unbelief. Instead of asking over and over for the same thing every day, realise that God is not deaf, but delights in granting what ever we ask for providing we have the faith to believe to receive it. So from when you had prayed your petition, just keep thanking God for your answer to that original prayer – no matter how long you have to wait.

Then some time later, I heard a similar message from Jesse Duplantis (yet another faith giant among preachers), tell about the process a different way. He was speaking to women at the time and told them that if they wanted a husband they had better be really detailed in what they ask for, so that they never have to put up with or change a husband because he just doesn’t come up to their expectations. He too says, put in a really detailed request to God, then from that point onward keep thanking God until the husband you had prayed for turns up.

So remember, that when you pray you need to be specific. If you want a house, write out everything you want in the house, the furniture, the number of bedrooms and so on. Draw up a plan of the house, take a picture of you in front of a similar house, pray for it the one time, and then as many times a day as you can thank Him for providing the house and its contents. Learn to believe for it in all the faith you can muster.

Also remember to pray asking just the one time, and then spend the rest of your time in thanks. Give thanks for every room and every piece of furniture as often as you like, see it in your mind, keep believing and thanking God for what you now vividly visualize and see your faith will grow because of it. And it’s the faith you build that will see the house manifest. Go for it, you must believe that deserve better than you have now.

Even secular motivational Giants Like Earl Nightingale and Zig Ziglar make similar suggestions.

So when you pray, pray with detail. If you need to, write that down in every bit of detail into a diary or a journal, then pray for it with real faith, a faith that encourages you to receive from God what you had already prayed. And then give thanks for the answer over and over until the answer to the prayer materializes – and that can be anytime, now or into the future.

Why do we need to build that level of faith? Because when we pray, and then give God thanks for what we have prayed, God or Father wants to bless us, and works behind the scenes to make it happen, and it then depends upon our faith as to whether we are able to receive what we prayed for in the first place.

So often in the Bible we are reminded that it is our unbelief that stops us from receiving what is rightfully ours. But remember, faith comes from hearing (reading out aloud) the words (teachings) of God (our Lord Jesus Christ).

Remember, even the most trusted by Jesus (His apostles) were told a number of times that they had little faith in certain areas of His ministry dealings. Other times they were told that certain ailments could only be removed through prayer and fasting, and most people I know with real prayer power achieve this through regular fasting (substituting allocated meal times with prayer).

To help you build your faith further, I have included the following scriptures for you to read (aloud), meditate on (think over carefully), and mull over (consider how they fit into your current situations) so that they come to life (in your heart and mind) as you apply them (like powerful doses of medicine) in every area that is (or has been) an on-going challenge in your life.

STUDY THESE SCRIPTURES

ASSURANCE : Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. Hebrews 11:1

BELIEVE AND DO NOT DOUBT : But when you ask, you must believe and not doubt, because the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. James 1:6

BELIEVE IN THE NAME : I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

BELIEVE ON JESUS : Then Jesus declared, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” John 6:35

BELIEVE YOU RECEIVED IT : Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. Mark 11:24

CONSIDERED FAITH : And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise. Hebrews 11:11

DO YOU BELIEVE THIS : Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who believes in me will live, even though they die; and whoever lives by believing in me will never die. Do you believe this?” John 11:25-26

ENDURANCE : But you, man of God, flee from all this, and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness. 1 Timothy 6:11

ETERNAL LIFE : For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16

FAITH MOVES MOUNTAINS : If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 1 Corinthians 13:2

HEART SET : I have chosen the way of faithfulness; I have set my heart on your laws. Psalm 119:30

IMMEDIATE FAITH :“Go,” said Jesus, “your faith has healed you.” Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road. Mark 10:52

LIVE BY FAITH : For we live by faith, not by sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7

MOUTH YOUR FAITH : For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you profess your faith and are saved. Romans 10:10

PERSEVERANCE : Because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. James 1:3

PLEASE GOD FAITH : And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. Hebrews 11:6

POWER : I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love. Ephesians 3:16-17

RECEIVE THROUGH FAITH : Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. 1 Peter 1:8-9

REVEALED FAITH : For in the gospel the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last, just as it is written: “The righteous will live by faith.” Romans 1:17

SAVED THROUGH FAITH : Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

SEE THE GLORY : Then Jesus said, “Did I not tell you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?” John 11:40

THROUGH FAITH : So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. Galatians 3:26-27

TRUST : May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 15:13

VICTORY TO OVERCOME : For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith. 1 John 5:4

WEAK FAITH : Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarrelling over disputable matters. Romans 14:1
